Pictures from September
September flew by! Here are the pictures from my iPhone this month to summarize it all:
First, Andrew got his first "real" haircut. I have been cutting it since he was 1 but when the lady at the grocery store told me he looked adorable with his little "bowl cut" I decided to go to a professional:) No bowlcuts in this family!
Before: sitting in the chair feeling all grown up:)
During: chopping it off!
After: He looks so much older!
Nate went kayaking after work one beautiful evening and Drew had to try it out on the front lawn. He kept saying, "I'm gonna go fishin' with Dad!"
Watching the gorilla cage get cleaned out at the zoo.
Harper getting some Granna time!
This sweet girl just gets cuter and cuter (in her mom's humble opinion:)
2 smiles from my favorite little girl and boy!
I cannot believe Harper is 3 months old now. Where did the time go? These have been a busy and fun past 3 months. Before I forget, here are some details of Miss Harper (I was so much better about this with Andrew's posts!)- She weighs about 11 lbs as best I can tell
- She still eats every 3 hours and takes 2 one-hour naps in the morning and then a long 2 hour one in the afternoon, sometimes doing a 30 minute one around 5 or 6 if she can't quite make it to bedtime.
- She is doing great sleeping from 7:30 till about 6:30 in the morning...this was a shock to me as Andrew took awhile to do that! I did nothing to get her to this point but I'm just happy to get sleep at night!
- She loves taking a bath and it calms her down when she gets a little tired in the evening.
- She does great in the stroller or the car...pretty much just hangs out and then falls asleep if she gets tired. She's laid back!
- She does, however, like to look at whatever action is occurring (say, watching Andrew play or me cook dinner or looking at whoever is in the room).
- She loves to be carried around in the baby Bjorn (carrier) looking out at everything and everyone.
- I can always get a smile or little giggle out of her if I sing to her.
- She is super smiley when she wakes up and makes the sweetest baby sounds!
- She still loves to be swaddled like a little burrito...it calms her down.
- She is a really sweet and happy baby and we lover her so much!

Apple picking time!
Sunday we went to Huber's Orchard to pick apples...a perfect way to spend an early fall day! Nate's parents and grandmother came too for the day. Andrew had a ball with the tractors and running around in the orchard of course!
Heading out to the orchard on the wagon ride
Picking the perfect apple!
Family picture! You can barely see poor Harper but she seemed to enjoy literally hanging out right there!
My boys:)
"Look Omi! Here's another one!"
This little girl was as happy as could be just chilling in her carseat while we all ate lunch outside on the pavilion of the restaurant.
He wanted to give Omi an "eskimo" kiss
Eating lunch outside in the perfect weather
Feeding food to the koi fish
Back at the house, Omi entertained Andrew so Nate and I could make some apple pies.
Grandiddy and her grand-kids
Harper woke up and needed to be held by Omi...
...and Diddy
And Opaw too!
He made her smile a lot:)
More of August...
Andrew's version of playing with Harper is to "share" a toy truck with her...she feigns interest I think:)
We went to Bernheim Forest again on another beautiful Saturday.
.
This is how Harper and I hung out on the hike.
Another weekend we went to walk and hit up the playground at Waterfront Park. Andrew was loving it with the tractor "ride" on the playground.
Walking along the river
After church...and they were both still smiling!
Remember that minor house addition we were doing...yeah, it's still a work in progress. Like the crazy people we are, we had long ago decided to save a nice chunk of money by doing ALL the finishing work ourselves. Not sure what we were thinking...like we have time to do that with 2 kids! Hoping to post some finished pictures by Christmas and that's being optimistic!
Granna and Drew enjoying a blizzard at DQ...
Sweet Harper after her bath one evening
With our friends Chris and Dana (and their kids) at the Seminary's Fall Festival.
Why not climb right in with her? Luckily, Harper doesn't seem to mind.
Watching the gorillas at the zoo one morning.
Catching up....
I'm catching up on the months of August and September here...In August, Erin came up from Nashville with Leena and we got some cute cousin pictures. It was definitely a little chaotic in my parents' house all weekend! Laura and Josh came too but the only pictures I got were a couple ones of the kids...it takes a lot of effort to even remember to bring my camera these days so these are iPhone pictures, and therefore not the best quality but cute nonetheless!
Andrew greeted Leena with a great big hug!
After 50 tries we finally got everyone looking up and not screaming....

This just makes me laugh...
But they're happy here!
