I guess my little wish for one measly snow day turned into a lot more...Louisville tends to freak out at the first 1/2 inch of snow on the ground but we got 6plus inches and then ice on top of that. So what started as one day turned into 5! Luckily, Nate and I haven't lost power here but a ton of people in Louisville did because of the ice storm breaking branches off trees and onto power lines. The city looks like a snowy tornado hit with all the downed tress and power lines. Luckily it is supposed to warm up tomorrow and melt this stuff. Have I mentioned that I am over winter...I need spring in my life!

A Real Snow day....or 5

Snow day...and a prayer request.
Also, I have a prayer request...a friend of mine from high school, (Mary Julia's) brother Patrick was in the hospital this week getting some tests done and they found out that he has lymphoma, so please pray for him and his wife as they go through this time. He is in his early twenties, so this is pretty unexpected... I can't imagine what they must be feeling and also his entire family (the Garcia's for those of you who know them...and probably already know about this). Thank you!

Winter...
Nate just celebrated his 29th birthday a few days ago and we were talking about how we never seriously thought we'd get to 30...I mean it was just yesterday we in college, hiking with our friends, and our biggest worry was whether or not to go to class that day! It's crazy to think how much time has gone by and how much changes but yet stays the same too...I took this picture after we went out to eat for Nate's birthday (I only got the guys in this one...the girls were on the couch I think!) and love how we are still close friends with some of the same people we've known for almost 10 years now (since we all started college together at least). Meanwhile, I'm trying hard to find things to like about winter after Christmas...maybe a good snow that gets me out of school for a day might help. Instead we have weather just cold enough to be snow-like (flurries) but not cold enough to accumulate or be fun! I am enjoying our fire place as evidenced above but is it just me or is January the hardest month? Anyone else miss the color green? I am craving some springtime around here but obviously that is so far off!
