A busy week!

We've done a lot this week...it started with a visit from Amanda and Mary. Mary brought Lina (who is just 4 months older than Drew) with her and both she and Drew behaved like angels:) We went out to eat at Ramsi's...so good! Then we wanted to walk around but it was so hot out that we went to the mall. Poor Drew...he had to go shopping with a bunch of girls. But he retaliated by sleeping the entire time in his stroller! Of course I didn't get any pictures except this one of Amanda holding Lina while Mary tried on clothes. It was nice to have extra sets of hands to help all day...Mary is a pro at multitasking and at one point she was carrying Drew in the carseat, Lina on her hip and 2 bags while I was trying on something! It was so good to catch up all day with two of my closest and oldest friends.
Saturday, my mom and I drove to Nashville (with Drew in tow) to visit Erin. She hasn't seen him since he was born 4 1/2 weeks ago. Also, Erin treated me to a day at the spa! Some of her friends had given her a gift card at her and Mark's engagement party and she was kind enough to share with me! It was much needed seeing as having a newborn can wear you out...and my mom got to spend some quality time with Drew while we were getting massaged and pedicured.
Hanging out on the front porch swing that evening
Drew loves his Aunt Erin!
This was right after a clap of thunder and his hands went right up to cover his little ears!
Drew loved spending time with his granna too! We all walked up to breakfast Sunday morning.
My mom and Erin enjoying coffee...I am still trying not to drink caffeine because the few times I have Andrew is more fussy than usual and doesn't nap as well. Sigh....I miss coffee. A lot.
Such a pretty summer morning to eat outside. Drew did really well not disturbing everyone around us at breakfast (dinner the previous night was a different story!)
This is pretty much how he spent the morning!

Happy Father's Day!

To two of the best father's I know:)
We had an impromptu family photo session in the front yard yesterday...I told Nate we'd better take a family picture because it's not every day I actually get a shower and get dressed! My parents were kind enough to come over Sunday morning and watch Drew so Nate and I could got to church. When we got back, my mom had made brunch and Laura came over too to celebrate Father's Day.

Worn out from all the visitors!

3 weeks old!

Cute as can be when he's happy...
Or mad!
Hanging out in the bouncy seat (thanks Molly and Gracie for letting us borrow it!)
Sleeping on Nate
Going for a run with me (the lens fogged up...that is how humid it has been lately!) Drew LOVES to ride in the jogging stroller. He just stares up at all the leaves on the trees and seems mesmerized (nevermind that he can't actually focus on object more than 10 inches away...but that doesn't seem to matter when he's looking up at sky). Then he drifts off to sleep by the time we're home.

Just a Saturday night on the town...

One of my good friends from high school, Jessica, got married and we made our first venture out of the house as a family last night. Drew got dressed in his best onesie complete with a tie (thanks Paige for the outfit!)

Cute as can be!
Me, Jess and Annie at the reception. Let's just say that I underestimated the time it would take to get Andrew fed, changed and then quickly get myself ready so we kind of missed the actual ceremony but at least we made it to the party afterwards!
He chilled out in his car seat the entire time! Such a good baby:)
And then he hung out with Nate a little that night after we got home...
We always post the cute, peaceful photos but let's be honest...babies cry! I think he was a little tired out at this point:)

Two weeks old!

Just another sleepy picture...I need to get some when he's awake!
Hanging out with dad:)
We decided to do a baby in the garden pose just for laughs!
Omi and Opa came down for another visit Sunday!
Hanging out on Omi's lap

My parents came over Saturday night for a couple hours so Nate and I could go out to eat. We are lucky to have babysitters (very willing ones!) so close by!
Falling asleep on Nate's lap...so comfy!
That's about all I've got for pictures right now...I need to be better at taking good ones while he's awake (although they probably all look the same to everyone...I think I've always thought that about my friends' baby pics...just being honest...but it is true that when it is your own baby you see all the little changes they go through in just a couple days or a week!).
Drew is settling into a nice routine (for the most part) napping well and he wakes up once in the middle of the night to eat and if we're lucky, the next time is 6:30 am. So not cool when it's 5am! That hour and a half of sleep makes a huge difference! Also, now that he's two weeks old we feel better about taking him out of the house/to public places. This will make it easier on me that's for sure! You know it's bad when you get excited about going to Target! But I know that these first few weeks are just like that. Thank goodness it's summertime and we have gone on lots of walks in the neighborhood, plus my mom has come by a few times each week just so I can run to the grocery or somewhere. Nate and I keep saying how lucky we are to have my parents close by and his parents who are willing to drive down at the drop of a hat should we need them (and they would too!) It has sure made transitioning to life with a baby easier and we are thankful for all 4 of them!

More of our first week home

Grandiddy came by for a visit!
Since Drew's cord fell off yesterday, we got to try out the whole "tummy time" thing...he was able to lift his little head up for a few seconds!
And we gave him his first bath...I think he liked it!
Wrapped up like a little mummy...this picture is kind of blurry but his little hands holding on are so cute!
And all was well until Nate unwrapped him:(
Precious!
Meanwhile in our garden...the blackberries are almost ready and I can't wait! I think we aren't going to be able to keep up with them we have so many!
Nate has done an awesome job getting the whole vegetable garden planted and weeded all spring since I wasn't able to help much this year. We've got a TON of stuff planted and I'm ready to live out of it this summer!
Summer has arrived!
Just hanging out with Nate...
And asleep finally:) That's all we've really been up to this past week. Pretty simple! It's been an easy adjustment home for the most part. Drew is still eating well and sleeping well, waking up once to eat in the middle of the night which I'm thankful for! We'll keep our fingers crossed that it lasts! It's been so much fun so far and we're loving our little guy more each day!
